*** বাক্যের এক অংশের সাথে অন্যের পূরক শব্দ।[Correlatives]
*** ইংরেজি বাক্যে Correlatives বা পূরক শব্দের ব্যবহার ভাল করে জেনে রাখা উচিৎ। নচেৎ বাক্য অশুদ্ধ হবার সম্ভাবনা থাকে। ও সামান্য ভুলে বাক্যের অর্থ অন্যরকম হয়ে যেতে পারে। No sooner-এর সাথে than-এর ব্যবহার হয়, scarcely-এর সাথে before [বা when], hardly-র সাথে when [before] ইত্যাদি। এই রকম কতকগুলি বাক্যাংশ আছে যার সাথে পূরক শব্দ ব্যবহার করা হয় না। যেমন As soon as we reached the bus stop, the bus left. এই বাক্যে as soon as-এর পূরক শব্দের দরকার হয় নি।

3. We had scarcely reached the school when (before) the bell rang.আমরা স্কুলে পৌঁচেছি কিনা, অমনি ঘণ্টা বেজে গেল।

13. What to speak of standing first, he cannot even pass the examination.প্রথম হওয়া তাে দূরের কথা, ও তাে পরীক্ষায় পাসই হতে পারবে না।
14. He would rather fail than copy.ও পরীক্ষায় ফেল করবে, তবুও নকল করবে না।
